You will be joining the R&D Engineering team creating the first-ever HD Hydro system, starting with design and sub-systems development in the lab with the end goal of implementing the solutions for our various full-scale demonstration projects. Along the way you will be expected to contribute to all stages of the new product design process as well as building out the lab, prototyping facilities, test systems and company processes. You will be comfortable sourcing components, solutions and services as part of the overall development process. Problem-solving, test and evaluation, iteration, improvement and innovation are your bread and butter. As an R&D engineer working on real hardware, you relish being able to get your hands dirty and work across multiple disciplines, be it in the lab or on-site.
This full-time position is based at RheEnergise’s HD Hydro Technology Centre in Montréal and reports to the CTO. Working is in-office or remote (as circumstances permit) and occasionally on-site when demonstrators or pilot projects are being built.

Your Skills
- Engineer with relevant experience building actual hardware and strong industry networks. You know where to go to source a solution or get a custom part built
- Comfortable and curious about working across disciplines: fluid mechanics, mechanical systems, power conversion, test & instrumentation, control systems, process optimization, material handling
- Strong background in experimental work and testing. Analytical skills bolstered by strong familiarity with e.g. Matlab, LabVIEW
- A knack for systems design with the ability to see both the big picture and the small details
- Excellent transferable skills make you a versatile early employee
